Codex Alimentarius Commission (Codex)
Some countries use the standards produced by the Joint Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) - World Health Organisation (WHO) Food Standards Program, the Codex Alimentarius Commission (Codex).
Codex produces standards, guidelines and principles for international trade in food. These standards contain requirements to ensure that consumers have access to safe, wholesome food products that are free from contaminants and are correctly labelled.
