NSWFITC Overview
The NSW Food Industry Training Council Limited (NSWFITC) is an industry training advisory body (ITAB) funded by the NSW Government to:
- provide independent, representative advice to Government on the skilling needs and priorities of our 25 industry sectors ranging across food and beverage processing, tobacco processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing;
- advise industry on the implementation of Training Packages and quality training systems, including available funding, resources and best practice; and
- act as industry's advocate and voice on training policy and related matters.
Our regular reports to the NSW Department of Education & Training (DET) assist DET to plan and formulate policy, design industry specific training strategies, initiatives and programs, purchase training from Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and allocate resources to enhance training in food processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises in NSW.
Council, through the leadership of the Executive, Board of Directors and Committees provides a unique opportunity for fostering partnerships and strong working relationships with industry, the community, training providers and government.
